The Story:

The ancient Egyptians revered the north wind, known as "Shemu," which brought cool, refreshing air during the Peret season. This wind was seen as a divine breath, offering relief from the heat and dryness. Tales and hymns praised the north wind for its life-giving qualities, much like how winter winds are appreciated in other cultures for their crispness and clarity.

While ancient Egypt didn’t have a winter in the traditional sense, the cooler season of Peret held deep cultural and spiritual significance, and many of their myths and tales reflect the cycles of death and rebirth, darkness and light, that are often associated with winter in other cultures.
